The second meeting of Joint Security Commission of Pakistan and France was held in Rawalpindi that reviewed the situation in Afghanistan and the progress towards containing militancy and insurgency. Defence Secretary Asif Yasin Malik led the Pakistani delegation while the French side was headed by its Secretary General for Defence and National Security Francis Delon.

Both the sides discussed strategies for making efforts to attain peace in the region and Afghanistan. Contributions made by both the countries for stability in the region also came under discussion during the meeting. The two countries vowed to continue engagements and endeavours to assist each other in the realm of peace and security. It was decided to schedule the next meeting of the security commission during the first half of next year in Paris.
